A friend who's using a satellite_A305-S6905 running Vista with 3 gigabytes of RAM can't watch a whole YouTube video. It starts to load, starts to play and then stops and then starts. He says it takes about 30 min to watch a video. And this is not just one video but any that he tries to play.

Any ideas?

That isn't enough to go off of. For starters, what kind of browser is he using along with any extensions and/or plugins?

Also try another browser and see if the same problem still occurs. If the same thing happens it might be Adobe flash.

He's using IE and seems to be getting Adobe updates frequently which sounds like it may not be updating?

If he doesn't have a high speed connection, I'm willing to bet it's his connect speed.

That's normal, with a slower connect.

I'm having him check his Adobe flash version but up and download speed is bad. 0.57 mb's down and 0.38 mb's up. I'm also finding out who his provider is a what plan he's on.

"mb" doesn't just have one meaning. If it means megabyte, then its perfectly acceptable; if it means megabit then you likely have a problem.

It says Mbps - 0.57 Mbps down and 0.38 mbps up.

Mbps usually means megabits, so you likely have a problem.

ask him to check what his provider is supposed to be selling him, then take it from there.

Waiting for an answer on his provider stuff. He keeps focusing on the flash player software which I try to get his version.

He's got the latest version of flash.

Right click on the YouTube video pane and open flash options and disable hardware acceleration, also change his preferred YouTube video size to something other than 720hd
