Your Flash results are surprising and interesting if true. Can you post some numbers? One quick but crude way might be to go to an HD youtube video, right click on it and select "Show video info," then go full screen and try to calculate a rough mental average of the FPS reported. I'm sure there are better ways though.

My netbook can't do HD Flash videos, fullscreen or non-fullscreen.

But I can watch, for the first time ever, 360p and 480p fullscreen flash videos. I'll try to get a bench mark, with and with without the plugin.

I love roll up. I really never minimize things anymore, I roll them up instead.

I guess the fact that I don't have a task bar contributes to not minimizing, but at this point roll up is a requirement for me.

I think your power button and keyboard shortcut problems are related - probably xfce doesn't come with the proper supporting programs installed. I'd do a search for the proper program/plugin, and I'm sure you can get them all up and running.

Is Ubuntu still running pulseaudio? I was never very impressed by either the XFCE audio controls or pulseaudio. I'm now back to simply using ALSA. ALSA can be a bit of a pain, but once you get it set up, alsamixer works just fine IMO.

As for light-weight-ness:

My system sits at ~250MB ram usage with no windows running, which is a good 100MB lighter than what XFCE was doing last time I ran it. I make it my goal to stay as light-weight as I can.... and I end up with a very responsive system.
Arch Linux x86-64, Openbox

Doing nothing Xubuntu idles at 350MB. With all my apps running it idles at about 900MB. It runs a bit smoother than Ubuntu 10.10 did, when over capacity. Sorry, for the subjective comment.

The real reason to use Xubuntu is it's stablity. I've had no crashes or lockups. Ubuntu had a few, specially when going into or coming out of suspend mode. Kubuntu and Bodhi both were worse when it came to this.
