I think he wants to delete an entire self-authored thread.

I'm pretty sure as soon as it's been up very long, or if someone has commented, you can't delete it.

If I start a new post, new subject ....can I delete the whole post once there have been replies?

we do have a testing forum...

You can delete your own thread if no one makes a comment afterwards. You can also delete your last comment if no one makes a post after you.

Just wondered if I started a post and then decided I wanted to pull, if that was possible. Evidently not, eyh?

Use the testing forum as fliptw suggested and see for yourself.

I don't think you can delete posts that have been replied to unless you're a moderator.

You can delete your own thread or post only if nobody has replied to it. After someone has replied (even if you reply yourself) you can no longer delete your own post or thread, only a moderator or administrator could.

Generally we don't delete threads unless there is good reason.

OK, for the future, let's take the next step. If there was a good reason, who would I contact and how?

Either the moderator of whatever forum it is posted in, or one of the administrators.
