I've become a regular viewer of the webshow "Extra Credits". They typically take aspects of gaming and examine them in a fairly well rounded manner. If it isn't going to be "Well rounded" and is going to be more of a rant, they let you know.

This weeks show is about... you guessed it: Technobabble. This is one of the more visually amusing shows I've seen to date; and normally they get a couple of good chuckles and one belly laugh. They get more than that this time. Also, the touch on some REAL science near the end that was interesting and in-light of a recently locked Thread.. and the way it ended, I felt it would be rather apropos.

So, if you have 6 minutes to kill, I'm sure you will find this entertaining. And if you don't then I don't wanna hear about it. ; )

Extra Credits discusses "Technobabble"

I can't remember if I said in here or not, but much <3 for Extra Credits. I loved some of the imagery in this one too.

Well, if you watched the vid, you could see where Anti-grav and the lateral propulsion of a pyro falls into this. It's a mechanic of the game that you just have to buy into or the game doesn't "work" for you.

Sure discussing and debating the actual "science" or theories about how all it works is fun, but at the end of the day, it just "is". Kinda like the Lego games. Sure it's silly, but there's enough "fun factor" that making the leap beyond what we consider "rational" easy enough to do. (unlike my sentence structure )
