Poor little Trump. He don't get no respect. He could only get Ol' Newt and Google Problem' Santorum to sign up for his little Saturday debate party, so he may have to cancel. Everyone else had the intelligence to flee, even Bachmann and Perry.
It's really something when even the loonier candidates in the lineup give him a thanks-but-no-thanks.

On the flip side we might have gotten some real questions about what each candidate will do about the economy instead of vacuous questions about a candidates sex life.

While I agree that the questions in a presidential debate about Cain's sex life were completely idiotic and indicative of our current society, I don't agree that the Trump would be a good moderator. Especially considering that he is still mulling the idea of jumping in the race....that seems pretty dumb.

Oh no, I think he's sniffing for the veep spot. Newt's got too big an ego to play second fiddle to Trump. Wait, on the other hand, who's got the bigger self-serving ego? Oooooooooooo, clash of the Titans! Kind of like Palin vs. McCain.

Has Obama ever demonstrated gross ignorance of basic elements of the Constitution, or current events, or anything along those lines? I'm pretty sure we would have had it strewn all over the front pages if he had.

Yes, because minor word flubs are the same thing as not knowing what the voting age is, or not knowing what's been happening in Libya. Y'know, tiny little issues like that. Anyone who looks at the entire current Republican lineup and doesn't burst out laughing is just being disingenuous.

Actually his not backing the Iran uprising was a show of ignorance and was talked about in the press. As was his complete withdrawal of all troops from Iraq for simple self preserving political expediency. Then there was the freezing of oil rig permits that cost the gulf coast 50k jobs. Want me to continue?

The Iran situation was far more nebulous and ill-defined than even the current Syrian situation is (although that's changing by the day), which itself was far less favorable for intervention than Libya was. There's no purpose for us continuing to be in Iraq, though if you want to spin that as mere "political expediency," go ahead. And maybe calling a moratorium on new drilling permits was a prudent idea after, oh, the worst ecological disaster in American history? Nah, couldn't be.

it's heartening to hear you say that......I suspect that feeling has done nothing but grow, nationwide as this collection of morons has demonstrated the dumbing down of the GOP(once the party of Nixon, Goldwater, Rockafeller and a host of VERY intellignet men).

you are seriously attempting to equate what at best were questionble calls with:
1. Mistaking what state the American Revolution started in(Bachmann)
2. Claiming the founding fathers wanted to end slavery(Bachmann again)
3. Failing to identify the whole Libyan conflict(Cain)
4. Not knowing the legal voting age(Perry)
5. Claiming that 'no one expects me to know about foreign policy'(Cain)
6. Not being able to name three Executive departments(Perry)
.....I could go on, but to equate such things merely displays a laughable level of Obama-hate on your part woodchip. Sad, really.

Actually JFTR some of the Founding Fathers did want to end slavery but, it was put off “to future generations” in order to insure ratification.
Anyway…
People who defend politicians instead of the value of their own beliefs have a very heavy burden to bear. If you think one party or side has better ideas than the other…good for you…if you believe one party or side has better people than the other…TG has a bridge for you…

Like Ol' George had perfect record of no flubs with everything that came pouring out of his mouth. I remember quite a few Bushisms that were absolute loo loos. Here's a pretty good sampling. It's a loooooooooong list. I think it definitely tops Obama's list

Hey woodchip, I'd just like to remind you that the Status of Forces Agreement, signed by Bush and Maliki, called for the troops to be withdrawn by 2012. Obama is merely following the pact that was signed by the former President.
Of course you knew that already though...

Yes but the ignorance of Obama to state "he" was pulling the troops out is the political expediency part. Did Obama publicly state the pull out was due to anything other than it was his decision? By stating the pull out was his sole pervue and the press stating the military did not want to do so makes sure Obama's rabid liberal base was satiated.
Perhaps Obama did this to draw focus away from the real engineer of the SOFA...George W Bush's administration. Can't be giving credit to Bush now can we. Curious how during his 2008 bid Obama made statements to the effect he would be pulling the troops out of Iraq when the SOFA was already in place.

Yeah they had flubs, none of which affected anything. Obama's ignorance killed the Iran spring and cost people their livelihood. Puff Obama all you want Slick, but he's a disaster to this country and will be doubly so if he becomes a lame duck president.

Curious how your view of the GOP candidates changes over a few months:
"The Gingrich bandwagon seems to have derailed rather quickly..........
damn, there goes one of the few 'ideas' people on the right, with the wits to put those ideas forth." viewtopic.php?f=4&t=18465&hilit=+gingrich
Like a good liberal promoter you build up the candidates who are low in the polls. When they rise to the top they then become idiots. Too bad you don't work for Obama seeing as how transparent you are.

The agreement was not signed until after after the election. The framework was in place but nothing was solidified until after Obama's campaign. But the facts don't really matter, as I said before regardless of what it is or what the circumstances are you will find fault with whatever Obama does.
As for what his military commanders say, who gives a ★■◆●? They didn't sign the pact with Iraq and I guarantee that if Obama violated the terms of the SOFA, your side would be all up in arms about that. So what gives...let's keep having the same circle jerk over and over again.

I say the trick nowadays is not to find out where these candidates differ, but where they are agreeing.
They may differ on social issues, but all members of this group have one thing in common.

Oh, and it's one thing to feel that Obvama made a mistake, or to differ in principle from actions he took. It is another to act like stone cold morons, which describes over half the GOP Presidential field. You all are the ones claiming Obama to not be intelligent, and that is pure Obama-Hate in action. only one SLIGHT difference. Obama is the CURRENT President and deserves all the scrutiny he is getting, because he has the power to either fix or further screw-up this country, while your Idol GW is RETIRED and the only power he has is to turn on his remote and watch Obama either fix or further screw-up this country. but I guess that point slipped by you. but if it makes you feel better to believe that all the world failings are GW's fault, then i guess that's a burden you will need to live with. but please live with it in silence, because it's tiresome to the rest of us.

How's Newt going to do that with no friends? Most Republican power brokers and insiders hate him and would prefer he went away.
No one can say a thing against Ron Paul and as long as he has been there, he has yet to be invited to the CFR. Probably because of his counter-views. Globalization is inevitable, but someone like Paul or Clinton would have us be strong when we get there. I get the feeling the rest are ready to cash out and head towards the Riviera

Well, the only reason I'm flogging a dead horse is because I think GW is more responsible for this economic mess that Obama is. Sure, Obama's been a spineless waffler, ineffective leader and corporate political tool and I'm not going to choke down another vote for him, but GW's the one that trashed the house, then left the disaster for Obama to straighten out with a parting; "Thankyou very much. I had my fun". Obama also got stuck with a bunch of Republican and ConservaDem 2-year olds in Congress that have refused to work with him at all to help clean up the mess, of which a good chunk of was also their responsibility.

The last time I checked Obama didn’t get “stuck” with anything…he wanted the job. If he wasn’t up to it, he should have left it to someone else.
