Another Quake

Post by sdfgeoff »

I'm getting tired of these.
Today it was a 5.8 and a 6 on the Richter scale, along with numerous 3's and 4's.
The area I'm in has pretty much no damage, but the other side of the city will spend Christmas digging their houses out of the silt. Ah well, we can't control it.

The shaking isn't too bad, nor is the damage, rather it's more psychological, the sound is horrendous. Living in a tiled house they all have this deep rumble that seems to shake you, even if the aftershock is too small to be felt. If you're outside though you can hear the shock-wave travel, in one ear out the other, like a big car going past. Mostly though one just gets tired of the lack of sleep.

Anyhow, I'm jumping ship up further north for a week long holiday on our 22 foot boat.
Eh?
