Robo, I think it's a Kiwi thing. Cop writes birthdate in wrong space on the ticket and hilarity ensues.

I think the fact that the car type the cop described and the car type the owner has are different had something to do with it too, bash.

This is exactly how I have gotten off about 5 speeding tickets in the last 10 years. Not because of incorrect information - but by writing to explain the circumstances.
I've even appeared at court one time and made my explanation and avoided the fine that way.
Tjought I recognised teh ticket-type - as the NZ Police have given me a few of these over the years.

I'm guessing that the joke isn't that the cop wrote a ticket looking like a big red X.
