FTP issue. Fixed.

So I've checked my ftp login sessions on cpanel. There are none.

I've done this thousands of times before, yet...

:E I can't login to any of my ftp accounts through the ftp command or through ubuntu's "connect to server" button, under "places".

Is there a chance my server has shut down all ftp connections in reaction to an attempted hack? I mean, that's what my python programs do, that I write. If so, should I just wait or try to reset it? If not, what is it?

this is on a hosted account? if the answer is no, you have no justification for using ftp.

If you have local access, can you just edit the files straight up?

Is your host Verizon, because I recently got a message from them stating that “due to security reasons” they are no longer allowing server access via ftp.

You now have to use their stupid control panel.

Everybody, it's a hosted account with no ssh access... .

Anyway, it's working now for no reason.

Actually it's now slow as ★■◆●. I'm going to have to complain to my provider. I tested my system on a different ftp server and there was no problems so I'm like 89% sure it's the server and not my computer.

Well, here's my support ticket...
Hello. My ftp can login, but hangs when I try to do anything.

try connecting to

Name: ------------
password: --------

If you connect using the ftp terminal you should be able to connect, but when you run a dir or ls command it should hang until it times out.

I tried connecting on other machines on other networks using different methods and I'm 88% sure it's the ftp server acting up.

As always, no rush!
Thanks.

It was nothing. Admin did a few adjustments everything works as it did.
