I try not to fix Windows. I call it a loss and move everything into Linux.

When you said to nuke it from orbit I had two thoughts:

1) Firing a missile from space. (ouch, I hope they aim properly)
2) From the web (like one of those spam notifications "3 virus's detected. Click the link to remove")

Yes that looks like a good way. I just use my old usb drive circuit board.
