Issue with iPhone and Windows

Ok, so my wife decided to plug her iPhone into my PC and use my itunes on my windows account. The problem that I have no is every time I plug my iPhone into my computer, the "autoplay" window pops up and shows "*****'s iPhone" instead of "Merlin's iPhone". I've searched through the registry for the exact words but came up empty. I've searched for similar and deleted everything I could find but it still shows up as it's her iPhone that is connected.
Nothing is affected by this but it's annoying to see (for me).
Just wondering if anyone knows where to modify the "auto play" box that opens when you plug in the phone or other devices.

Whatever setting for it is probably in iTunes.

It's not itunes. It's a windows explorer auto play window. I did check Itunes but it all says Merlin's and not her name. It's a weird issue and I'm not the only one with it.

What I mean is iTunes probably changed the name your phone says it is at some point when you synced it, so that would be where I would check.

Well everything in my itunes says Merlin. That's why I'm stumped. I can't find it anywhere.

You probably need to name your phone under its property window…
Right Click…Properties

I had the same issue, just renamed it to "Apple iPhone" does not matter who's phone I plug in now into Windows shows as "Apple iPhone"
REGEDIT
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Microsoft > Windows Portable Devices > Devices:
Find "USB#VID_05AC...blah blah": OPEN
Double click the "FriendlyName" key to change "Apple iPhone" (iPhone, iPad, iPod)
Locate any subsequent "USB#VID_05AC....blah blah" and edit that key too
Should be an entry for every device that has been connected
It's considered a portable hard drive to the Explorer shell

Try hunt down an autorun.inf file inside the devices file-system. That's where the settings for the autorun box is likely to be hidden.
But then, not having an iphone, or any other i-device I don't really know.

No need to mess with the iPhone or iTunes... It's a general device issue in the windows registry. It takes the properties of the newest identified hardware in a 'class of devices' to represent them all

I went to those registry keys and the first one says Apple Ipod and the second says Apple iPhone.
Doubt changing it will make a difference since it doesn't show up like that when I plug it in.

My keys were a bit different than these but I did find one with my wife's name in it and changed it this morning. Will reboot tonight and see if it worked.
Thanks Bubba

It worked. Funny how when I searched in the registry for the exact name it didn't find it.

yeah slight variations on the keys, based on the info outputed from the phone on initial connect (and if x86 or x64). Logically one would think that would allow windows to identify the different phones but alas it does not
My phone was VID_05AC&PID_1294, the other phone info I deleted was VID_05AC&PID_1297
on a mac however it does know the difference!
NT vs OSX again!
