I want 2 apps:
1) Replace people's faces with lol-cats, whose mouths move when they talk. "Why are you laughing?"
"Cuz ur a talking cat! Cats don't talk!"
2) I want a game that lets me use my hand as a gun to shoot aliens that appear in what ever room I'm in. If I'm in a room with lots of chairs and tables, the aliens should be hiding and shooting at me around corners.

/me twitches at the notion everyone apparently has that portable mp3 playersaugmented reality is a new thing and AppleGoogle invented it.
no no no no no.
However it is nice i suppose to see a big player in the mobile phone market like Google getting onboard with this old idea, coz a modern mobile phone with a headtracking visor attached is prettymuch all you'd need. Just integrate the 2 into 1 device and you're set, can't be too hard to do, which i guess is the whole point of this campaign.
It's time.
There's been a problem with mobile phones, they are getting more powerful, and thus better able to drive bigger and bigger integrated viewspaces. But unfortunately bigger viewspaces are in confict with the notion of a MOBILE device.
One answer is to decouple the physical size of the device from the size of the apparent screen - making a virtual viewspace, thus an HMD.
But i'm not entirely sure the HMD needs to be head mounted. With retinal laser projectors you can theoretically project the image into the eye from your phone's face, ie: from a considerable distance. Well i wonder anyway...
I wonder how many peeps will walk into on-coming traffic while wearing them.

Can't even text and walk in your own back yard without it being potentially hazardous to your health.

we're workin on it. personally i'd love an app for that, i'd like my car to drive itself. Bypass all that navigation thinking to a technological subroutine.

Roid, if google could make a better vision of that NAVI thing, only smaller and more elegant, that would be amazing! One of the things I'd like to work on is making technology for the blind. This is very cool!
