Those dirty penguins

My Flyers are beating them 3-0 in the series, and they decided to break out the gonnery today.

I'm annoyed. I hope suspensions ensue... especially to Neal for taking head shots late in the game.

I wonder if Crosby realizes just how much everyone outside of Pittsburgh despises him. Man it has been a thing of beauty watching this series.

I wonder when the day will come that someone will get tired enough of him to end his career. I don't want to see people hurt, but Crosby's got it coming if he doesn't clean it up and the league doesn't start calling him on penalties.

He's got great skills, but the whining/diving/crying that comes with the package just turns people off.

Unfortunately for them, I think that Crosby and Ovechkin are on their way toward being replaced.

It's the best series so far. Crosby is a baby and Neal HAS to be suspended. Ottawa got 1 game and Rangers dude got 3 for his head shot to Alfredsson. The excessive violence in this years series is scary.

Yep.

Looks like the Pens dug their own graves on this one. I think they're actually losing their favored status.... the problem really is that they ever got it in the first place. If Pitt doesn't know how to take care of their team and support it, then it should be moved... history or no. Let it be a blemish on the city's name.

I really do think that there are a few too many teams in the NHL - if Florida, Atlanta, Pitt (assuming that when they start losing again they get an empty building again) and maybe Winnipeg disappeared, I don't think they'd really be missed all that much.

Bring Phoenix to Quebec City.

Snoopy - Atlanta already did disappear... to Winnipeg! :) They probably have good odds in the short-term at least, but it might be a somewhat more vulnerable than Calgary/Edmonton/Toronto to having a team spending long periods in the doldrums.

But, yeah, Phoenix is probably going to have to move. Hoping for Seattle rather than Quebec though, for obvious reasons (beats getting handed the Panthers or Islanders).

Either way, Pens/Flyers series motto: "What's defense?"

And we're not losing the Jets again!

Yeah, hope they start giving you some playoff appearances before too much longer though :)

You'll let me know if they do, right? :P
It's kind of not possible to not pay attention to them around here, unless you never step out of your house. And that's assuming you live alone. If you don't live alone, it's a lost cause before you even start.

It's a crazy playoff this year. So many crazy hits and fines, suspensions.

And Vancouver got tossed out on their asses by the Kings.

Good. I hate the damned Nucks.

Now if only the Sens can toss the Rags out and the Hawks can come back on the Yotes, I'll be a mostly happy man going into round two.

They kick out the Wild a few too many times or something?

Anyone think we'll see a Flyers east vs. Flyers west final? (Flyers vs. Kings)

The teams don't seem particularly similar to me...? Kings are a strongly defensive-oriented team with some ability to score, versus the Flyers who are only just putting the wheels back on the cart there, but have much more offensive power. It could happen, but at this stage I figure Nashville is more likely to come out of the west... depending who wins their series, could be the Rangers, Bruins or Flyers from the east.

Some Philly people coined the kings Flyers west because they have Cater, Richards, Gagne - all recent/long-time Flyers.

Flyers are a good team this year. Hoping the Sens finish the Rangers tonight. Hoping Washington beats Boston

Agree, considering that the Flyers had easier times with Washington, Sens during the regular season.

Actually in our one playoff meeting, the Wild kicked THEM out. Coming back from being down 3-1 no less.

And my hate for them goes back to them being an organization full of goons and jerks. From Bertuuzi and Ruutu years ago to Burrows and Kesler now, the Nucks just have a giant goon menatlity about them.

So to hell with them. Even the rest of Canada outside of BC hates them.

I laughed SO HARD last year when they choked in game 7 and then their fanbase burned down the town. And now I laugh even harder this year when they choke even harder and cant get past the first round as the number one seed and presidents trophy winner.

The Sens lost last night. Now to game 7 in NY. Let's hope the lone CDN team can go to round 2 but my hopes aren't high.

I want to see them win just to get the Rags out of the playoffs.

Also Ive had a soft spot for the Sens ever since 2003.

Awww the Rags won :(.

Jersey up 2-0.

I don't really care who the Flyers have to face of those two. Not to look past this round.... but either the Caps or the Rags worry me more next round.

If the Flyers don't keep their defense stable they could find themselves out pretty quickly, yeah. I don't envy those having to rely on playoff-Bryzgalov.

A friend of mine from on Kali and I talked a lot during those playoffs. He was a Sens fan, I was a Wild fan. Before the conference finals started that year (Wild-Ducks/Devils-Sens), we were psyched about the possibility that our teams could possibly meet and play for the Cup.

We also both agree that a Wild-Senators final would have been VASTLY more entertaining than the Ducks-Devils trapfest we got that year. I could hardly stand to watch any of it.
