...or red square?
Secret Service shuts down ‘fire Eric Holder’ protest

U.S. Secret Service officers shut down a student-led protest calling for President Obama to fire Attorney General Eric Holder this morning, according to a report from in front of the White House.

After discovering a “suspicious package,” the Secret Service ended the protest. “Several agents seemed hostile to our march and seemed anxious for us to leave the area,” Maurice Lewis, a University of California student, told Campus Reform. “The discover[y of] the ‘unidentified package’ came just as the protest began gain traction.”

Depends on whether subsequent attempts at reviving the protest get quashed. Now you have me curious to see what happens.

[Edit: Cue conspiracy theories about where the "suspicious package" came from...]

maybe one of the cops was like.... OMG look at my package

and then they were like SHUT IT DOWN!!!!

No but seriously, this political-motives-behind-cops-actions ★■◆● seems to be happening more and more, or i'm just noticing it more and more, maybe the media is getting better, or maybe the victims of it are getting better at getting their side of the story out. I mean i never really gave much credence to the whole corporate-cops thing, like how people say that cops are owned by corporations, and if you follow the trail up the ladder they are essentially taking their orders from corporate interests, you know what i mean yeah? I've never particularly understood how that was even meant to work, what i mean with their salaries comming from the government (not corporations). *shrug* oh i'm rambling.

Do you remember that thing that happened in that Canadian protest where that cop agent provocateur was caught out on camera? That was kinda eye opening, seeing them get caught out like that essentially red handed. It really started to make these sorts of false-flag conspiracy theories seem quite viable indeed, since finally here it was - captured on youtube before our eyes.

We probably need stronger and taller barriers between the public offices, like between a local government and it's police force, and between a national government and it's army. So as to discourage the growing of armies leaning towards defend someone's personal ideology, rather than defending society.
That could all create it's own problems though, could make military coup attempts more likely. I guess it's important for a society's public offices to have the same culture as it's society, to make sure their loyalties lie with the greater society (rather than it's leaders).

i dunno. how do i politic? derp.
Maybe if we all push for regular reforms, it would make things better. Keep all the offices professional, efficient, and on their toes.

I don't think this issue will appear again unless there is another protest.

This is not without precedence. President Hoover quashed the Bonus Marchers. And they were mostly war veterans pissed off that they were getting stiffed out of their promised cash bonuses. Nice way for our government to treat our military personnel.
