The Oculus Rift. John Carmack's new Virtual Reality headset

Did a search and found no-one had mentioned this here yet.
An awesome cheap VR headset, apparently John Carmack of ID games is just sick of not having VR so he's decided to just force it out there into the world, into all our eager hands .
I think a lot of people got a look at this at E3.
Head tracking: 6 degrees of freedom (DOF) ultra low latency
Field of view: 110 degrees diagonal / 90 degrees horizontal
Resolution: 1280x800 (640x800 per eye)
Inputs: DVI/HDMI and USB
Platforms: PC and mobile
Weight: ~0.22 kilograms
and it's only $300
This is essentially a dev-kit prototype, there will be a consumer version later with perhaps even better specs, but i dunno if that's gonna only be $300. But everyone's just buying the dev-kit hehe, for $300 for VR specs with such awesome specs everyone's like DURRRR PURCHASE!! it's practically a no-brainer. I'm considering jumping onboard.
There's a Video about it on it's kickstarter page
