And the world takes its first step to making Descent a real life thing.

Hey, I would have loved to have a diamond studded chain saw attached to my Pyro. Nothing like a little slicing and dicing a la DOOM to make your day. Come to me, UP CLOSE!

That bot looks like an underwater ROV. What do they want to do with the chainsaw appendage?

Those teeth would be more jagged for wood, I bet.

Come to think of it, Descent really did need some sort of short range/melee weapon; D2's Omega and D3's Napalm were probably as close as we got. I always bumped into ★■◆● a bunch when playing...I should at least get rewarded for doing it. :P

Sure would be nice if the Pyro had some kind of Melee weapon so I could give a little bit back of what I get from jackasses like lifters, diamond claws, and e-bandits.

What? Rewarded for playing badly?
How does that possibly make sense in a 90s game?

And don't start saying the jack word! You'll wind up like Oscar on Corner Gas!

Who says I was playing badly? If you're in a cube-wide tunnel with a few bots, chances are good you're going to bump into one of them.

(Granted, I probably was playing badly, but still.)

Holy crap! That thing would be good for making your own tunnels in Descent! Self-made shortcuts to the hostages and that damned reactor without having to go through the maze of hell.

In-game level modding in descent would be a cool feature, if it added to the strategy of a dogfight.

Which would be better, blowing holes in tunnel walls with ordinance, or cutting them with a diamond saw? One is faster and more satisfying, but noisy and messy, and the other a slow, surgical cutting, where the player could make up neat little cul-de-sac booby traps and dead ends for other bots or players?

Traps might be cool. There would have to be ways to tether objects. Tether gun? Or spiderman web?

Ah, good ol' GeoMod. It worked fairly well in the first Red Faction game.

From that angle it looks like a really pissed off bot from D2.
