No I meant the looping. There isn't enough time where it's totally black -- so it feels like a looping animation instead of anything more.

And the phases of the moon together are a little longer than a month, I think.
Months were originally based on the phases of the moon; but you knew that. Then it was changed so that the months would fit more neatly into a year.

Shorter than a month, hence why we* had a blue moon, a second full moon in one month, just last month.
