yeah, I'm a huge jerk for just copying something off reddit's front page, but this is one of the coolest thing I've ever seen.

Look at that!!!! Both of them are extinct species! But we're getting to see them in action a hundred million years later!!
I wish I could die like this, caught in amber fighting a
DEATH BLADES.

See, if I was french I'd think that the thread title meant 100 thousand years because there's only one l.
And I'm one of the only people I know who likes spiders and isn't afraid of most of them. So I say kewl.

I found this interesting:
The modern terms "electricity" and "electron" derive from the Greek word for amber, and come from William Gilbert's research showing that amber could attract other substances.[11] The word "electron" was coined in 1891 by the Irish physicist George Stoney whilst analyzing elementary charges for the first time.
The Greek name for amber was ἤλεκτρον (elektron), "formed by the sun", and it was connected to the sun god (Helios)
While amber is not actually named, it is called the concreti maris purgamentum, "the leavings of the frozen sea" after the spring melt.

I love that Greek logic: It's yellow. Must have come from the sun.

It's more likely they did that because it's combustible and was used as fuel. Fire=sun, you get it.

But did the greeks fathom that the sun could be a ball of fire?
I must brush up on my mythology at the expense of more important stuff.

The sun is made of HOT. Fire is made of HOT. Both emit light.
You know what else is made of hot? Me, baby. I'm made of hot.

Well, I can't say that is true, but what I can say is that no one can accuse you of being repressed.
