Don't you feel old now grandpa?
My sister's kids have now had kids. Now I'm a great aunt, I think.......and look like one too.

TC, I have just hit my prime!! I'm only 42. I figure the next 20-30 years are gonna be good ones!! I honestly don't think you have matured fully until you hit your 40's. That's when all insecurity leaves, your a little smarter and wiser, and you slow down and just enjoy living.

CONGRATS flip.
My 4th one is due in March.
all boys
being a GP rocks. the thing I've found is that you can do the one thing you never could with your own kids. ENJOY THEM. as a parent your too busy raising them to be able to just stop and enjoy them.

Yep exactly Cuda and I plan to do exactly that. Grandchildren get all the benefits of the things we learned while experimenting with our own childen
I am very proud of my daughter too. Not not long ago, she was becoming a very haughty and insolent person. We went to church and I told her to take the offereing up and she was almost indignant about it. I turned her over right then and there. Now, you should see her! Very strong, caring, humble and independant. I'm getting good at this, trusting in God's ways and power.

Heh! If my sister's kids are having kids, I'm
OLD.
That makes my father a
great grandfather too.
But seriously, things go way downhill after 45 as far as I'm concerned. After 55, you're on that glideslope to eternity.

Eh, I see it a little differently I guess. Seems there is some truth to the proverbial 'crossroads.' When you hit 40 you have to make decisions. Up till then you can pretty much do anything you want and your body will heal itself. Around 40 your metabolism starts slowing down and you have to start taking care of yourself. The ones who realize that will live well into their 90's or beyond, for the most part. The ones who continue set in their ways will be lucky to make it to 60. For example:

I hurt too much to do all that. My muscles hurt when I use them too much (hormone imbalances) and they don't like to acclimate very well, my feet have very little fat padding and get sore when I stand or walk too much, my joints and tendons pop and click so much, I sound like a bag of potato chips when walking, and my skin is now so thin, the veins show like little, bulging, blue rivers. Ick! To add insult to injury, now when I get an owie, it leaves permanent mark.
Everyone younger than me looks like a baby to me now, and I live in a town full of college students who
all look like little babes in the woods.
