Incase you need directions:
- goto Google,
- click IMAGES up the top left.
- click the Camera icon which just appeared in the text field, to the left of the search button.
- paste the url of some image.
- click the text "visually similar images"
- zoom out in your browser
- go fullscreen
(hopefully there will be a lot of results, enough to fill your screen, if not i guess try again till satisfied)
i dunno, this thing is weird and cool. Don't you think?
hmm..
didn't really know what to do with the thread... Hey lets ramble.
What do you think about an automated system that collects this info automatically, and then scrolls it across YOUR LARGE-SCREEN TV as a sort of virtual real-life wallpaper pattern, all day 'erry day, giving both texture and CONTEXTUALLY APPROPRIATE colour to the otherwise bland walls of your home. Could be interesting.
It's just a question of where the context will be sourced from. Perhaps it'll just take a photo of your room, or objects in your room, take them as a starting point.
I mean - the point is that it'll look good. Your TV will look like it fits in with the colours of your home (instead of just a black panel). Or if it's coupled with projectors that'd be better. In the future maybe all of the walls in our homes will be screens, perhaps projectors in every wall. Change the colour/texture of your whole house at a whim. This would fit in well with that.
