They infest the area around my house, some kinda turtle-dove, they call to eachother ALL DAY, and they are very loud. I wear earplugs to bed otherwise they wake me up in the morning.
I find their calls incredibly distracting, it was actually these ★■◆●ing birds that made me start to wonder if i had ADHD in the first place coz no matter what i did i just could not mentally filter them out and concentrate on my work.

I occasionally go out there and hurl iceblocks at my neighbours' roofs, trees, etc to temporarily scare them off, but there's so many of them, whole families.
i think killing them might be the only option, but i can't exactly get an air-rifle easily in my country, and it probably wouldn't be a good idea to shoot at anything around the suburbs.

GO CATFISH GO

Roid have you tried to use ultrasonic sound devices to scare the birds away. You could also use artificial Owls. There are more ways than these.

i've got an artificial owl, which they don't seem too concerned about.
Since initial trials (putting it on various things) weren't promising, i havn't got around to properly mounting it on the roof yet.
The problem is there's so many perching points here in the suburbs, and most of them aren't on my property, i can't owl them all, i can only hope to scare them away with an area-of-effect.

There is a raptor that flies around occasionally getting me momentarily excited. YESSSS KILL THEM ALL HAHAHA.

I haven't looked too much into ultrasonics, afaik they are expensive, need to be wired into power, and i'm concerned they'll be audible. But if anyone has personal experience with it, i'm all ears.

Ultrasonics don't work, because bird hearing-range is pretty close to human. There are websites all over which claim they work (and they'll $ell you one!), but the actual evidence shows they do almost nothing. Personal experience: My HOA spent a bunch of time trying ultrasonic devices to get rid of a group of cliff-sparrows who were building nests all over our complex. It did absolutely nothing.

Also, ultrasonics can be audible to humans with a higher than normal hearing range (including me). It's a bit annoying if there are no other sounds, but I was able to sleep through it just fine.

On the other hand, that dang squawking bird that perches right by my bedroom and gets raucous at 4AM every summer... I feel like strangling it sometimes. :P
