Look like Al Gore sold Current TV
Glenn Beck's Blaze Media approached the struggling cable news network last year, the Wall Street Journal reports, but was rebuffed because "the legacy of who the network goes to is important to us and we are sensitive to networks not aligned with our point of view.
So who does Al Gore sell it too?????

Instead, Gore went with the Emir of Qatar-funded Arab news channel Al-Jazeera.

Al-Jazeera has been criticized for having a pro-Islamist bent, and accused of working with members of Al Qaeda. One of its journalists was arrested in Israel in 2011 on suspicion of being an agent of the Palestinian group Hamas.
so since he wouldn't sell it to anyone that didn't align with his point of view. is Al Gore Pro terrorism??

I think it may be a good thing. Al Jazeera may just be what this country needs in regards to media.

Glenn Beck or the Emir of Qatar huh?

He made the right choice. He chose the less bat ★■◆● crazy person, why are you posting about this? Isn't he a free citizen allowed to do as he pleases with his business?

I eagerly await a smug response that will certainly include a spot where Gore isn't given credit for the HPCA in 1991.

Why does Al Gore's status as a free citizen preclude the right to highlighting his decision to sell to Al-Jazeera?

After stating that everyone has to pay their fair share to help the country, Algore goes and sells business so he can avoid higher tax rate in 2013. Maybe he ain't as crazy as he seems.

No smug response. I'll just point out your ignorance to the OP
did you even read WHY???? apparently not. I agree he can sell to whom ever he pleases

BUT

He said that they would only sell to someone that "the legacy of who the network goes to is important to us and we are sensitive to networks not aligned with our point of view.

Al-Jazeera is a mouthpiece to terrorist. so by his own statement he condemns himself. your hatred and personal opinion for Glen beck has nothing to do with his personal reasoning to sell to Al-Jazeera over Beck.

no, they aren't. In fact, Al-Jazeera has been far more evenhanded that most US news outlets in coverage of the middle east. Yes, that involves getting the point of view of radical Islamists, and not painting some cartoonish picture of them, but Al-Jazeera is hardly a mouthpiece for any terrorist group.
As for the sale of CurrentTV, I think Gore was lucky to find any buyer. It was an ill-thought-out production, with a handful of highlights and a ton of filler garbage. Al-J likely overpaid.

and really, the LAST thing this nation needs to have is another outlet for Glenn Beck's lunacy. I suspect he wouldn't have been able to finance the deal anyway, as this whole incident reeks of output from Becks publicists,

Al Jazeera English service seems to be a pretty good news outlet in terms of world news - however Al Jazeera Arabic is NOT. It is very much slanted in terms of coverage in the middle east in favor of sunni islam, the gulf states (where it is funded and based) and the house of Saud.

Is it telling the west one thing and its 'home audience' another? Quite possibly. This isn't new in the Arab world. The muslim brotherhood's Egyptian president Morsi, Yasser Arafat and other sunni 'Arab leaders' had and have been well versed in being two-faced when it comes to dealing with the west's naivete.

Al Jazeera has been active in propaganda and rousing the 'Arab street' against leaders opposed to its aforementioned sponsors. They played an active role in getting the 'Arab Spring' underway.

Hey, I watch Al Jazeera English for world news all the time because live, it's free and streams anywhere you have an internet connection- but Al Jazeera Arabic is the channel you don't see in the west.

I did read your OP Cuda, and I read the article you linked. I've never really watched Al Jazeera, but I've heard it's similar to what TB described.

Every news station has a slant. I would expect an Arabic news station to focus and defend Arabic points of view just as I would expect a news station in Texas to promote a Texan point of view (whatever craziness that may be as well). I'm guessing this was more a financial decision; I doubt Beck had the liquidity available to roll out $500 million and let Gore take his 20 percent stake and run for the sunset in his Gulfstream.

I'm sure there is something more important going on in the world than the sale of Current TV. Nobody watches it anyways so what harm could it do?

To illustrate Arab two-faced nature:
Israeli-Palestinian negotiations are "a waste of time and opportunities" as Arabs and Muslims get nothing out of engagement with "the descendants of apes and pigs," current Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi asserted in September 2010, according to newly translated interviews published this week by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).
"Moderate" muslim brotherhood leader and president of Egypt describes Jews as 'the descendants of apes and pigs' (a common racist and genocidal epithet against Jews in the muslim world). Aside from its repugnance, it speaks of blind hatred that disregards the fact that muslims (or rather their religion) are themselves 'descended' from Jews as Abraham was father to Jacob (the Jews) and Ishmael (the muslims.)

Image

So has Morsi (the ape or pig- whichever you think he resembles more closely,) changed this opinion on Jews and Israel or is he merely pandering to the west for money and support?
