flying with no wings

Post by rijruna »

saw this the other night on a 'speed' show [all things fast].
looks like it could be a lot of fun

http://www.flybywire.co.nz/index2.htm

free-form flying on cables 40ft off the ground, itd be the closest to a pyro that u`l get except for no outright vertical motion [pity].
cheers

Ace, we really don't care about your "extensive" knowledge on every helicopter known to mankind. A simple "helicopter" "chopper" or "whirlybird" would have been more than sufficient. Touting the call letters, make, and model of each brand of flying contraption posted on this bulletin board just makes you look like an AImagesshole.

you should shoot him with your Pyro-GL with its Potassium-Argon lasers for being so lame.

And then you can run him over with your 1996 Chevy Camaro ZKX-1282 type-R.

And then flame him from your AMD Athlon64 system with 2 GB PC-3200 RAM and the 800 MHz FSB and... uh... yeah, it's really freakin' lame that people know so many numbers.

A friend of mine invented FlyByWire. The first one was installed in Queenstown, in a valley. We all had a great time on the thing too. It's the "fastest adventure ride in the world" and when you push the thing as high as it'll go, you are doing around 160kmh at the bottom. Despite this, the G-forces aren't that big. You *do* get a nice almost-zero-G-hang at the top though. :)

They also almost killed a woman 2 years ago when they didn't have the cable high enough and she crashed into the base building, severely injuring herself.

If you think you'd like this - then take up Paragliding, as it's really just a little lame after real flying. Paragliding is without a doubt, much more dangerous though!

Right after you invented the nuclear warhead and the stealth bomber right ;)

Actually guys, Pyro's aren't about speed really. Starkiller clocked a Pyro out at around 55 mph if I remember correctly in a to-scale level he made. It's all about quickness and floating on nothing rather than about speed. :)

A helo, or harrier-jet would probably be closer. :)

Dude you would catch so much less flak if you could retain your grammar after being provoked.

this thing is amazing. definite ZZZ material.

do you think it could fly if you detached it from the cable and added wings? or does the cable supply electrical power? (coz i see smoke, perhaps from an onboard engine for the fan).

i guess it'd be classed as an ultra light hey
