I'm taking a class as a free elective this spring semester. It is a Composition II class with a special topic called 20th Century Gaming.
Here is a list of the games covered:
Black Isle - PLANESCAPE: TORMENT
Sierra - PHARAOH
Black Isle/Interplay - FALLOUT
Interplay - DESCENT
Square Enix - TOMB RAIDER
Cyan - MYST
Id/Apogee - COMMANDER KEEN
Origin - ULTIMA IV
Sierra - KING’S QUEST I, II, III
Sierra - SPACE QUEST I
Infocom - ZORK I: THE UNDERGROUND KINGDOM
I will be expected to write two papers, take a couple of exams and do weekly homework, not to mention about 3 hours assigned gaming per week.

Myst, Planescape, Descent, Ultima, and Zork? That's a line-up of titans right there.

There is a chance that because of this class, the student technology center might put all the games on this list on the gaming computers in the student technology center. All of them except Commander Keen come off of GoG, so they will be using DOSBox.
So that includes Descent :\
Maybe I can show them what source port can do
edit: since I never got Descent off of GoG and I know there was a big deal out of getting its version to work with a source port, I don't know what the deal with it is.

DOSBox does support some kind of IPX network emulation as far as I remember, so you can use it for multiplayer if need be.

Indeed, last I checked, which was actually quite a while ago, the (very small) mechwarrior 2 community was using a custom NetMech setup with DOSBox. Speaking of Mechwarrior 2/NetMech, I juts might try getting back into it again.
