It will be interesting to see how long these devices last. I doubt we will see a smart phone CPU in a 100 million dollar satellite any time soon, they would probably want to stick to traditional radiation hardened systems for anything that is going to be in orbit for more than a couple weeks. But this could lower the cost and time needed to radiation harden new processors (right now it takes something like 10 years).

Remember one of the biggest upgrades the Hubble got in its final service was bumping it up from the 486 CPU it was using to a Pentium processor. :P
