Everyone has heard about the small asteroid that will make a close pass today (Friday Feb. 15th) but did you hear about its baby brother that just exploded in Russian skies?
Right now people are giving reports that the meteor has hit parts of the ground, but I'm wondering if they're confusing the sonic boom blast with an impact...

There's a zinc factory in the town with a pretty big hole in its side, so yeah, I'd say something made it down.
Here's a pretty good set. In one of those, it looks like it's almost headed towards the driver. Heart attack time.

WOW!
I saw a meteor come down over the Pacific Coast Range when I was driving back to Corvallis one night years ago. It burned a bright green color as it streaked across the night sky. Fantastic sight.
