You never know what they'll be used for, like creating a massive Botnet and an illegal internet census.

Things are only going to get worse when ipv6 hits at full force, because you won't be able to hide behind NAT anymore. Although on the upside, port scanning every last ipv6 address would take "a bit" more time and effort...

The reason I titled the post the way I did was because I've been reading Kevin Mitnick's book, "Ghost in the Wires". Funniest book I've read in a long time. First time I've heard of the term "phone phreaking" too!

All his shenanigans came to mind when I saw the article about the Carna BotNet. People never change, even though the technology does. They're way too curious and full of mayhem for their own good sometimes.
