Liberal PC run Amok

Read these 2 stories and couldn't help but wonder how far down the rabbit hole we've come as a nation. And then I wonder what the backlash will be when these kids grow up and start running the country:

1st story
"A school administrator in Florida called the sheriff after a pair of consenting 12-year-olds shared a kiss on the playground.

Lee County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to Orange River Elementary School after two female students were debating over who liked a 12-year-old boy more. At that point, one of the girls walked over and kissed the boy – leading an assistant principal to call authorities."

2nd story
"But Sam’s curiosity got the best of him — and he scampered out of the backyard – and fired his BB gun at an abandoned house across the street. In doing so, he accidentally hit a passing car."
"The North Carolina boy had been charged with two felony counts of discharging his BB gun."
“They told us that they considered it to be a violent felony — discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle,” Robbins said. “It was crazy. We completely disagreed with the charges.”

Now some here can post all the stupid things that the Republicans say and comment on how someday there will be no Rep. Party but I say the everyday stupid things the Liberal PC idiots "DO" are what will set the realities of life 30-40 years from now.

Interesting; I'd like to see the source(s) on these. They're certainly outrageous, but I'd expect that the charges in both cases have been waived/dropped by "cooler heads".

Yes, they were dropped. still the kids in both instances went through the ordeal of the police and in the case of the bb gun, it wasn't dropped until the day of the hearing. So damage is done

The kiss, an overreaction in my book. The BB gun incident, a little more complicated and I think warrants a more severe response.

Say your car was the one that was hit by that errant BB. Say you or your spouse or your child lost an eye because of this stupid kid's idea of "fun". What do you think the punishment should be then? Personally, I think the boy needed a little "scared straight" lesson to teach him some responsibility with a potentially dangerous weapon. A felony? Yes overblown. A good lesson to learn some responsibility? Yes. And don't give me that line that BB guns aren't dangerous. I've killed varmints with my BB pistol for crying out loud. They can and will penetrate flesh and especially the eyes. I've also had my share of house windows shot out over the years by these little brats.

I don't think the kiss is an "overreaction", I'd like to know what kind of thought process leads one to phone the sheriff instead of playing the part of an adult and dealing with the situation or perhaps calling parents and expressing concern...

The 2 felony counts are the overreaction (the word still doesn't do justice), if anything. Should have had a sheriff/police officer come out and confront the child and his parents.

Your right ST. After thinking about it, I think "overreaction" does apply to the kiss situation. A better response would have been to call both the kid's parents and let them know what was going on. But calling the police, definitely an overreaction on the school's part. There are far better reasons to call the police, and kissing 12 year olds on the playground is not one of them. Drug deal yes, kissing, no.
