University of Bath is trying to make a vector based video player, meaning whole areas on a frame will become vector objects, which can have gradients and overlap to render images. The goal is to have a very small video file at infinite resolution.
The University of Washington and MSNW (not sure who they are) have tested all portions of a fusion-driven rocket that might shorten the distance to mars to 30 days. A sand grain size bit of fusion is the equivalent of gallon of rocket fuel when used in this system.
A team at Stanford University school of Engineering have made a solid state panel that takes sunlight on one side and emits cool air on the other. Cars, houses, and anything else that sits out in the sun all day might someday have it as a standard feature.
At the Stanford University school of Medicine they have found a way to block the "do not eat" signal that tumors wrap themselves in, letting the immune system eat the cancer.

Is this video player going to convert raster to vector on the fly, because that would be awesome, considering the time it would take?

I assume it will be like any other video format, where someone converts the the raw video to the new format. Then users must have a compatible codec to play it.
