Things I Heard in the Office...

OK, so, my cube sits next to a major hallway where I work. It's the hall that goes to the cafeteria. So, as you can imagine, I hear all sorts of things. I've been keeping a list of the more random, "what the..." kinda comments I hear, but never see the speaker..
If you have a few that you've heard, by all means add them in.
- I tried to sparkle.
- There’s hair in her cube.
- Just drag your mangled body down the stairs and get in.
- I just want to go get my Snuggly clothes on.
- Those Columbia Sheetmetal guys are hot!
- Tall white hair.
- …I just wanna make the voices go away.
- J_____, when you going to the bathroom again?
- …this gaggle of High school girls….
- I left my heels at home (said by a guy)
- I am the fertilizer
- ~~blue grass music (mandolin) music ~~
- They’re using their carnal knowledge to prep parts..

Gads Duper, where do you work? Sounds like a shipload of strangeness sailed out of the Bermuda Triangle and tied up next to you.

hehe.. well some of it is just folks trying to maintain their sanity with silliness.
Some of it is just demonstrating how careless folks are about what they say.
The last one was a fopaux. Should have been "tribal knowledge". That's manufacturingeas for undocumented processes.
This is also a really good demonstration of how context is reeeeeallllllly important. ...well... most of the time. Some of these just can't be saved.

I'm pretty sure that's faux pas. Unless your country butchers the spelling of this french just like you butcher the pronounciation of "Fourche"
. In that case, keep up the culture!
I'll certainly keep an ear out. Maybe I'll start writing these things down too. It's the sort of thing that I'd be likely to do, after all.

it was faux pas. I couldn't remember how to spell it and a quick search did no good. obviously.

That was the second result on the google search I did to make sure I was spelling it right before I posted
.

Can't be as bad as voila... which I have variously seen spelled "viola", "vwala" and "walla".
Or maybe it's just a conspiracy to stick it to the French.

LOL very true Sirius.
auvangaurd ...or whatever is another one .. and yeah, i realize it's a phrase and not just a word.
I was typing at work yesterday and forgot how to spell "Certain" .. kept coming up with certin..no.. curtan... no... certon..pphhht..
"uffdah" or uff-dah is another one. I found several variations on that.
anyways.. Happy 4th everyone! Stay saif out there!

"avant garde"?
Personally, I tend to remember spellings well... but I really butcher pronunciations.

I know this riddle. The reason you never see the speaker is because
it's you.

Um.. no.
It's because I have a 5 foot cube wall on that side of me.
