It's the step in the right direction, but they're not thinking big enough.

This would be nice, but theres no way in hell it gets deployed on a nation-wide level, let alone a world-wide level, anytime within the next 30 or so years. If this gets off the ground, assuming the lobbying interests of the airlines and bus companies and everyone else that makes a mint off of people trying to get from point a to point b cooperate, this will likely be a technology that becomes practical for long distance travel when our grandkids or great grandkids start going places.
