While we wait for PXO to make an appearance,it is already Friday and the week has come and gone; I downloaded the trial version of HALO.
Whew, too many buttons to remember.
2D Motion sickness (flasback to Doom)
Wait, I think I'm going to .....Buuuuuuuuick
What game controller/s is best for this game. preferrably something I don't have to take my hands off of. Also, a game profile that keeps the digits in the hand moving smoothly.
What are you peeps that play HALO got for suggestions?

Bah, I hate controllers for FPS's... Not gamepad is as accurate or fast as a mouse...

I use my trusty n52 and mouse for Halo, but for faster games I use keyboard simply because I can push the keys on the kb faster than my n52.

What makes he KB faster than that n52 thingy? Ponder descent with n52+joy. What does the n52 do? emulate a keyboard? Or does it show up as its own thing in the game controllers?

Both? What keys does it emulate then? And what appears in the gamecontrollers dialog?

The software that comes with it is fully programable. You can make any key/button on it emulate any on the keyboard.
It is however a device on it's own so the system recognizes it as such.
Ingame setup, depending on the game, will have a setup section that may or maynot show the n52 as a controller. Personally, I bypass that portion all together and just setup the "Keyboard" section using the n52 (using whatever keys I have mapped in the software) as if it is the keyboard.

default is qwer, asdf, zxcv and everything near it like tab and caps lock, with a hatswitch and a space bar near the thumb (i believe). its a handy little device, i like it but i can't game for real with it becuase the stiffness of the keys (durable, yes) and the placement of the space bar.

Yeah, outside of Windows, or driver-less, it just acts like a USB keyboard, but with software, it can act as joystick or as a programmed keyboard.

I'm with Gren, I use the same hardware on my Mac (Mac ver of course). Also use 52 w/Joy when flying D3.

KB and mouse here for PC version.
Nothing beats an S-Type on X-Box though.
I didn't really like any controller until I felt the S-Type.
Wish I could get one for the PC.
HALO is awsome. I've allready got dibs on the limited edition of Halo 2.
