If you're intelligent, don't read this thread.
I wasn't going to go there, Spidey, but on my scale, far, far, far makes you come out the other side as Trotsky-esque.Spidey wrote:Christ slick, just one “far” puts you into Nazi territory.
I guess you're not intelligent by your own admission.Top Gun wrote:If you're intelligent, don't read this thread.
Maybe you could actually watch the video in the link and see for yourself. (After all, it can't do you much harm can it?)callmeslick wrote:no, but Jim DeMint IS.
I don't read things, I just mash my face on the keyboard at random and see what comes out.ThunderBunny wrote:I guess you're not intelligent by your own admission.Top Gun wrote:If you're intelligent, don't read this thread.
I think it could hurt your eyes at the very least...that is an abysmal encoding job.ThunderBunny wrote: Maybe you could actually watch the video in the link and see for yourself. (After all, it can't do you much harm can it?)
closing down the government just to block ACA, tax rollbacks coupled with food stamp cuts, I could go on for a while......Will Robinson wrote:slick, how about cite some policy advocated by Heritage that proves they are far right?
I've always viewed them a both a sensible conservative group, and an intellectual one, up until the past 5 years, when they took a SHARP turn to the stupid, ideologically rigid, unthinking side of things. That such timing coincided with a black guy getting electing might be mere chance, but I suspect not. They have been around for a long time, and have always been conservative, it seems like you could come up with examples of how they have changed under DeMint...or even how they have always been far right if that is your take on it.
How about, instead of going on, you clarify your characterization of what they did! I don't believe they wanted to "close down the government" to block ACA.callmeslick wrote:closing down the government just to block ACA, tax rollbacks coupled with food stamp cuts, I could go on for a while....Will Robinson wrote:slick, how about cite some policy advocated by Heritage that proves they are far right?
You know Will, you're always harping about those insiders in Washington and how we should be voting the scumbags out. How about those retired scumbags like DeMint who know all the inside workings of the government because they were in Congress for years, who then go out and join huge lobbying groups to influence Congress once they leave? I'm referring to both parties by the way, not just the Republicans. There needs to be a law that says if you've served in Congress, you can't go and a work for institutions that lobby Congress once you leave. Retire means retire from all things you did in your former job, like influence government policy. Will Robinson wrote:slick, how about cite some policy advocated by Heritage that proves they are far right?

Instead of back and forth pointing at each other saying 'You are far right (or left)' why don't you show us what you find to be far right under Heritage leadership so we can judge for ourselves if we think you are correct.
those were the exact words of their July policy paper: "Stop the ACA immediately".Will Robinson wrote:How about, instead of going on, you clarify your characterization of what they did! not any Dems that I am aware of are advocating both lower taxes AND a cutback in food assistance. And what tax rollbacks? And are they really evidence of being "far right"? Were there democrats in favor of those rollbacks? Are those Democrats far right also?
sorry, but you are showing that you can dance like Fred Astaire around blatant truth. The facts are that Heritage has moved from a 'think-tank' which supports research on policy positions to an ideological sledgehammer, lobbying from absolutes. And, those absolutes are extremist right wing absolutes. That something so well documented is something you are denial of is puzzling, but I suppose, not shocking.I think you are showing your partisan hyperbolic knee jerk reaction where anyone who opposes your Party is to be painted with the worst possible characterization, even if your own Party uses the very same tactics when it suits them! Life is tough, politics is tougher, get a helmet and stop whining...
"Exact"? Hardly! There is no mention of 'Lets shut down the government'...callmeslick wrote:those were the exact words of their July policy paper: "Stop the ACA immediately".Will Robinson wrote:How about, instead of going on, you clarify your characterization of what they did! "Well documented" or loudly professed with indignation by slick?!? I realize in your mind they are one and the same but many of us appreciate the difference!callmeslick wrote:...The facts are that Heritage has moved from a 'think-tank' which supports research on policy positions to an ideological sledgehammer, lobbying from absolutes. My feelings are consistent. I don't believe any group like Heritage should be able to contribute in any way to a campaign. No lobbiests should be allowed to approach an official during his term in office and offer anything other than their opinion as a citizen!tunnelcat wrote:You know Will, you're always harping about those insiders in Washington and how we should be voting the scumbags out. Like you and your initial post about the Sandy Hook shootings? How you jumped right in on gun control and never a word of sympathy for the victims. You are the epitome of a far left reactionary.callmeslick wrote:I'm consistent, too, Will. Extremists turn me off, from either side.

Oh I'm sorry...I didn't put enough fars on. So you are "A far, far, far left reactionary".callmeslick wrote:woodchip wrote:Like you and your initial post about the Sandy Hook shootings?
