A fitting metaphor for this presidency...

Post by Nightshade »

Obama's narcissistic behavior...the flirty selfies...the hiring of incompetent people...and total lack of security?

The vetting of a sign language interpreter who got within three feet of world leaders including President Barack Obama during Nelson Mandela's memorial was being investigated Thursday after organizers admitted they were unaware of his violent history of schizophrenic episodes.
Thamsanqa Jantjie, 34, was accused of gesticulating gibberish during Tuesday's service. Members of the deaf community said his movements did not resemble any recognized form of sign language and some groups accused him of being a "fake."
Jantjie told NBC News that he is currently receiving treatment for schizophrenia and had been violent in the past. He said he started hearing voices in his head during the Mandela event and hallucinated visions of angels flying into the stadium.
Asked by The Associated Press how often he had become violent in the past, he said "a lot," but he declined to provide details.

A metaphor huh...sure how about david vs goliath? Or leonidas and his 300 vs the persian army? Is there a metaphor out there that explains how one man faced the most irrational and flat out bat-shat crazy people like you and woodchip?

If you are looking at Leonidas, then I'm afraid Obama would be the crippled hunchback. The only metaphor for you is a picture of a fluffly kitten lapping milk from a presidential saucer and Obama's hand stroking your ears.

I think people that are making an issue of this have their head up their ass.
and I think people that are calling those that are making an issue out of this racist have their head even further up their ass

Forgive me Cuda on this reply but if the picture was you frolicing with a woman you were not married to at a friends funeral and your wife mentioned something about it...would you be telling her that her head was somewhere in a place the sun don't shine? I wonder what her response would be. :P

Not just any woman. It's called diplomacy. Personally, I find it refreshing that leaders of great nations can be comfortably informal like this. Makes the world a little brighter.

and with all the issues of real import on this planet, some folks focus on THIS? Tells me much about how much of a crap they give about really progressing and/or solving problems they are. More Obama-hate, or more like Obama Fear and Loathing. Sad, pathetic, and yet, by this juncture really, really funny.

Yet you insist on calling anyone on this forum that disagrees with the president a hater. So who's the one that needs to grow up?

You've called Will, Spidey, Woody, myself for starters, all haters. Maybe its about time you self evaluate. You call people haters that disagree with the president . maybe your being a hater for disagreeing with people that disagree with the prez, but I'm sure that thought never occurred to you.

utter nonsense, I reserve that term for people who ★■◆● and moan over trivia, or generate made-up 'facts' to support some complaint that has no validity, NOT over some serious, well-thought out disagreement over policy. Once again, you are smart enough to see the difference, or ought to be. Question his birthplace, his loyalty to the US or whine about some selfie at a public event? You're a hater. Cite bogus 'facts' about the ACA to prove that it is some sort of communist takeover? You're a hater. Give me something of substance? No problem. Real easy to figure out.

bull★■◆● you ★■◆● and moan about anything or anyone that criticizes the president. And its not your place to decide what it trivial to each individual.

decide, now, but I'll reserve the right to my opinion, and whining about selfies with world leaders is trivial. Interesting how this thread draws your interest, but the thread on Boehner, which shows a major shift in the procedures in the House for the next years, and the priorities of the GOP going forward....not a peep? This is the difference between substance and drivel.

I agree with you. bitching about a selfie is stupid. Doesnt make that person a hater. That just a ploy used to stifle debate. Right up there with those that "disagree" with the president and calling them racist. Plus it diminishes true racism. If you dont like a persons position DONT POST IN THE THREAD, but calling people hater every 10 seconds is childish. I challenge you to go back and re read every thread you've posted in for the last month. I think you'll be embarrassed by how often you use the term.

and if you're not, you should be

You know what makes someone a hater? When they have nothing nice to say about a person.

Not all funerals are solemn and full of mourning.

In many cultures they are celebratory and about a life lived

quite true. Many times, both types of services are celebrated, the celebratory for a larger crowd, and the more somber for the immediate family.....
