Was just there last week. Didn't see anyone like that. Though these days you need to make $150k a year just to afford a studio apartment in San Francisco.

That's what the guy looked like after he saw what the property prices were in San Francisco. It was a joke vision. I haven't seen that going on there for a long time. It's been gentrified by the Silicon Valley wealth. It used to look like that in the 1960's however.

back to the original topic......apparently, sticker shock is now setting in over in Colorado. After two days of crazy business, the sellers are afraid of supply shortages. And, there is nothing in the law to limit pricing, so it's supply and demand in full play. Ounce prices went from $250 tops to over $400, and the distribution places are putting a 1/8 ounce cap on maximum purchase at around $65 per 1/8 oz(500 per oz). Bottom line, though, is that Colorado and the townships are making serious, serious money on taxes. This, and this alone, will be the thing that makes the final push to legalize marijuana nationwide.......and, waiting in the wings are the big players: the Tobacco companies.

Simple supply and demand…if nothing else.
seems logical that prices would stabilize, but likely not until you had enough legal growers out there to cope with what will be a huge demand. And, since the taxes could be fixed per unit sold, the revenue stream will continue apace.

Every Joe shmoe and his brother will be growing it in their backyard. The only way to keep the price up, and with it the taxes, will be to keep it illegal.
Taxing pot seems like a panacea, it’s not hard to grow like tobacco.

It's not that easy. Though I've never done it myself, friend's of mine have investigated what it takes to grow good marijuana. It turns out to be a very, very large investment, thousands of dollars actually, and it's practically a full time job to do it. Key components are: a sizable place to grow, controlled light and water systems, deep knowledge of horticulture, and time. You pretty much need to become a farmer to make it worth your while. Trust me, people would rather just buy it.

I wasn't referring to personal consumption either. To grow high grade weed and be competitive in the marketplace you need the same level of commitment as a business owner. Americans already work more than people most countries.

never have tried to do it, huh? I'll leave it at that......save to add that it is a VERY demanding plant to grow RIGHT. Tobacco is a relative breeze, in the proper climate.

Growing indoors where you have to control all the variables is difficult, but a good strain and the right climate and those jokers will be 14 feet tall before you know it.

Don't those plants stink up your house just growing them inside? I mean, wouldn't your basement or growing room reek with the smell as well as the rest of your house if there wasn't good, constant ventilation? Then you've got the electricity use of all those needed lights and fans. That will take a chunk out our your profits too.

My mom asked me about this article the other day. I wasn't immediately familiar with the site, but then I started scrolling down and saw the name "Jesse Pinkman."
