In one day I find the following announcements:

Alec Balwin has quit public life and Peirs Morgan has quit his TV program (yes, it really was still on)!

I used to be a liberal, until my transition into parenthood beat the truth into me. It took just a little while for me to realize that I did not want to raise my son around all the self indulgent liberals who we're justifying their existence with PC and moral realitavism. My friends and co workers lied, cheated, back stabbed and tried to ride the coattails of every wealthy celebrity. Alex, you are going through a transition to maturity. You have transferred your purpose and sense of "I" to your family. Every thing you do is not for yourself but for your family. The trick at this stage is to come to grips with the realization that many of the notions you held so dear are wrong and the truth will set you free. Good luck... As a hard core conservative I respect your journey and I wish you and your family a great life where ever you end up. One thing... Do not give up on your talent just give up on the ego that was driving it.
Interesting.

That Baldwin article is a great read.

If you like having a completely arrogant prick blame everyone else for what's wrong with him, sure.
For me it is sad to think anyone admires him. He thinks of himself as Paul Newman and in reality he is so far from that that he isn't even of the same species!

A highlight of his denial:
I get angry, and I’ve said all sorts of things in anger, but I’d never use that word. Levin has so little regard for the truth, which is odd, knowing he was once a legal correspondent for the CBS affiliate in L.A. He’s also the one who revealed the tape that my ex-wife’s lawyers provided of me yelling at my daughter seven years ago. Knowing that none of it would have transpired if I hadn’t left the message in the first place, I think he hurt my daughter more than anyone.
Yea Alec, I'm sure she will have issues throughout her life mostly because of who it was that published your despicable hateful comments to her. If only those horrible things had been left for her ears only and to her private memory everything would be so much better for her

Great read....in some netherworld perhaps.

So Piers first found out his fellow Brits couldn't stand him so he came here. Now he found out we Americans can't stand him either. Do you think he will re-evaluate his life or blame external factors? Perhaps the Aussies will like him.

Piers Morgan's show was a bore, pure and simple. I tried to watch him once or twice, but just couldn't stand him. Frankly the same goes for Erin Burnett, she can go, too, for all I care. Alec Baldwin has anger issues, and has for a while. No loss, either one, and ideology plays no part in that. Not sure I agree with CUDA about divine intervention, but then again, I suspect he doesn't either.

Well, it does provide some insight into his thoughts and feelings, plus a unique perspective on how technology has changed life for public figures. You must admit in this day and age privacy has become an issue for even the most mundane person and this is clearly amplified to ridiculous proportions for those in the public eye. That's all I was saying about a good read. I don't give a flying poop about Baldwin. I've maybe seen half an episode of 30-Rock and maybe one or two movies he showed up in. I didn't get the feeling that he's blaming everyone else. He's simply sating times have changed and he hasn't, so he's leaving public life.

Yea, I follow that...I guess that aspect is old news to me so it didn't stand out as interesting or insightful especially when it is offered as foundation to his self serving excuses and deflections of his own horrible nature.
I don't think he is a homophobe, that requires setting some apart to hate from others that you have empathy for. He lives in a world of one. I think he is a vicious egotistical asshat of the umpteenth order who will freely and genuinely hate anyone on impulse...even his own child....just to feed his own twisted ego.
