So now white boys have made video games a racist venue and will now surely be banned. So get 'em while you can because the PC police will be all over this.

The article ends with a paragraph of FBI stats on violent crime but it doesn't break it down by race for perpetrator, only by the victim's race. Bad reporting or bad reporting?

I went to read the study itself, but found out they want thirty bucks for it.

This is good news for game designers. Knowing about racial bias in this medium can help new games steer clear of the mistakes in previous ones, and will challenge games to go in different directions, leading to more interesting characters, environments, and story-lines.

I get the idea that Grand Theft Auto by itself may have skewed the results into the negative.

Sorry Woody, but I can’t really comment on the video game aspect of this issue. (cause, I don't care)

But what we have here is the perfect example on pointing out a symptom of a problem, all the while ignoring the root causes of the actual problem.

It’s much more valuable politically to dismiss this kind of thing as “stereotypes” and “racism” than it is to address the problems behind exactly why white people believe black people are more aggressive and violent.

It fits the agenda much better to call people racist, then to tell people what they really need to hear, and address the root problems such as the lack of fathers and other things that are causing the “real” problems in the first place. (and the root of those problems)

And the dumb ass conservatives that comment on those blogs, just play right into the BS the other side is pandering. And of course the phony Tea Party plants…kinda finish the deal.

I’m always hearing this BS that the left is the side with all of the answers to the nations social problems…what a load of trash…they can’t even properly identify the actual problems, so how in the hell can they have any solutions?

People who live in a world of denial, should never be allowed to solve problems.

I don't know about what white teenagers think when they play video games, but when I played CJ in GTA San Andreas, I didn't mind playing a black male one little bit, nor did the color of the character's skin influence my decisions in the game.

An important observation, TC. Without having the results of the study we can't tell how much the subject's behavior changed. It is possible the results met the bare minimum for statistical significance and have a very weak correlation. You would still report a positive, but this would actually be great news because it might be lower than expectations.
