The the tea thrown into the harbor probably hurt fishing. But I think the truth here is it gave a bunch of over-sized boys an excuse to mod their trucks. I saw someone shooting black smoke from a diesel pickup the other day. They were specifically doing it to show off for some girls, but their last blast crossed the line, and made me half tempted to chase them down in the equally-sized company truck I was driving. I'm sure it filled the girl's car with smoke, and I know why they did it (they had no chance). Jackasses being jackasses. I'd have dropped some spikes if I had them.

Naw, a smoke bomb in their truck would have been much more satisfactory. Plus, any girls who would be impressed by a stinking, smoky diesel truck probably needs their heads examined. Puerile minds. What a waste of good carbon and water.

except, they were intending the smoke and fumes to waft AWAY from themselves towards the atmosphere we ALL breathe. Most smokers with any self-esteem or concern for others tend to keep as much of their smoky output for themselves. Big difference.

one of the beauties of our system is how much freedom is allowed for personal stupidity. Hell, the tattoo business alone would be dead if such weren't the case.

Plus, these bozos will eventually screw up their engines running them as "coal smokers" and certainly help keep the auto repair industry going strong anyway. The piper always gets paid when stupidity reigns.
