Optimal configuration

If you wanted to buy a new gaming computer, what the optimum, and most importantly, durable configuration would you choose?
Due to export laws, I'm not quite sure what is available in your country.
But generally speaking what works best for gaming in the US is a high end Intel i5 or i7 processor with a high end Nvidia or AMD graphics card.
