Holy Wars

So I wonder when we will be singing "Onward Christian Soldier" as ISIS and Islamnoterrorist continue their relentless attack on Christians. ISIS has now captured the largest Christian city in Iraq and is in the process of tearing down churches and killing the Christians. More telling is the Pope calling for something to be done. I have to wonder at what point will a holy war be called for by the Pope if nothing is done. Perhaps if I posted a few pics of murdered Christian children I could help get the ball rolling. I'm wondering where all those protestors are that so avidly protested against the Israelis killing Muslim children.

I think the President acted appropriately in response.

If it works, yes. I'd like to see equipment sent to the Kurds but Obama may wilt in the face of Turkish outrage.

how many times do we have to make the same mistake of arming this or that group and have it later haunt us for you to give up such foolishness?

Yep! That's precisely why this is happening, again. Another proxy war we enabled. Who's weapons do you think these bozos are using woody? Why, mostly OURS. Weapons we gave to the Iraqi Army to protect their country from terrorists like ISIS. Fat lotta good that did us when Iraqi Army took off out of fear or to join the other side when old religious rivalries exploded. In the process, they left all those nice, modern American weapons behind for ISIS to scoop up and use for their little mayhem. We need a new mantra. If we can't fight a war ourselves and live with the outcome, don't fight it at all.

Well, the surprising news is that this holy war is mostly between different Muslims, at the heart of it.

No surprise at all.

The problem with these conflicts is that we pick sides. We should give weapons to both sides along with great encouragement for them to kill each other. Then after they have exhausted themselves it'll be super easy for us to finish off the stragglers completely, then there will finally be peace.
