Bye, bye Holder

He's resigning. I wonder if the fight for a new AG will result in yet another a stalemate, or will Obama nominate someone just to placate the Republicans? Maybe he'll grow some stones in his last lame ducktitude term and nominate someone even more liberal than Holder, just to start a fight with the House and watch the fireworks. Of course, if no successor nominated, agreed upon and confirmed, he'll still be there.

Why would you want a liberal AG, isn’t having people with agendas in these positions part of the problem?

there's been a short list compiled, I've heard two names mentioned a bit(this wasn't unexpected in many circles, it's been coming since around February). What shouldn't surprise me, but still saddens me is the sick, partisan attacks even when the guy retires from the job by the usual suspects(Cruz, Boehner.....either should be lucky to be as good at their job, etc)

I didn't say I wanted a liberal. I'm only curious if he'd try to pick one just to cause a ruckus with Republicans, or if he'd instead try to pick someone neutral, or at least someone he thinks is neutral. But we all know that neutral is damn near possible nowadays. Someone's always going to dig back in a nominee's history and find something they don't agree with.

whoever he picks will be called 'liberal' whether they are or not, sort of like Obama himself(hardly a hard-core liberal by any calculus). Also, note in the announcement that Holder stays on the job until the replacement is named and confirmed.

Funny, I haven’t heard anybody call Hagel a liberal.

he's not Attorney General, where such labels could actually stick. Don't hear the Agriculture Secretary called such, either.

Oh, I guess I misunderstood, I thought the idea here was the fact that Obama appoints someone, not the particular job.

Wow, never figured people would go full-on crazy with the search for the new AG. You're not kidding Spidey.. and while you're at it, make sure you're good for ammo too.
