Hey I was just curious if anyone here uses Bryce 5? I find it very simple to use, but it lack the exactness of 3DSMax. Anyone else have/use Bryce?

I know Darkhorse has Bryce 4 and uses it on a regular basis, but not Bryce 5.

I used Bryce 4 for a couple months. I never really got into the hang of it. It was very simplistic and it wasn't the greatest piece of software in the world. I made a couple of cool wallpapers but that was about it.

I'm pretty sure Bryce 5 brings it up a notch, but there are plenty more pieces of software that can do much more, if you have the $$$.

Bryce is meant for making pictures, not models. :]

If you want to do serious modelling, don't bother with Bryce. It's a landscaping tool primarily. It also does okay with most buildings, but it's hopeless at organic and complex structures.

Yeh Bryce is like good for importing you demon model you made in 3dsmax and putting in on a mountain with blue and/or red sky with clouds that are made of flame, and a lake of blood reflecting the scrps of flesh that hang from his death soiled weapons as he dumps his huge feces load onto the burnt earth................

it's good for rendering ★■◆●....

I know this is an old topic, but I have Bryce and use it all the time. It's horrible for modeling anything, but it has powerful other tools. Usually what I do is model something in 3Ds, then import it into Bryce for the atmospheric effects, sky, etc.
