NYT Stop Being Pravda

Seems in their zest to carry the water for the Dem. Party, the NYT's has stopped worrying about accuracy. They reported:

"In a recent column about the Wisconsin governor, a conservative Republican, New York Times columnist Gail Collins wrote that Walker had cut state aid to education, causing teacher layoffs in 2010. But Walker didn’t take office until 2011."

Wonder if they corrected the error with as much fanfare as they reported their false story.

I hate to say it, but these types of errors will only increase with time. The current news media model is to generate as much content as quickly as possible. An unknown number of large media companies also employ robots or assist, or in some cases, completely write stories for them (this is especially prevalent in sports reporting). Here is the problem though, mistakes actually generate more clicks and more revenue, so there really isn't an great incentive to polish things up too much — only just enough to keep people visiting the site and maintain the least amount of integrity.

It sucks.
