just beyond ignorant, on so many levels.

Exactly what did you find was ignorant in her statements?

the indignity that someday her grandkids would be 'forced to vote for a Hispanic President'. Just for starters. In a generation, they will be the largest single demographic, immigration reform or not.

I can't help but get the impression that what she was trying to say is not what was said. Also if this was an interview them we ought to be able to see the whole thing, right? ...Where?

well, the interview was with the same source that printed the excerpt, so you'd have to ask them. Love the quickness to excuse her, as the words were a direct quote.

I think the operative word is "Expected:
“it boggles my mind how no one is thinking about the future consequences of our actions in the present! Are we seriously going to allow our children and grandchildren to be in a position where they’re expected to vote for a Hispanic president?"

Kind like we were expected to vote for Obama because he was black.

Then I'll just dismiss it out-of-hand. If this is the kind of reporting they do, I don't need to be making determinations based on brief excerpts like that. This is the way it works, slickster: if you were to say something like this (I would call these kinds of statements "incredible" at face value), then I would be asking you a number of questions to flesh out exactly what you're trying to say. Sarah Palin may be a political blond, but I would place the possibility that what she's trying to communicate is what you're appalled at in the "highly unlikely" category.

and neither claim would be true. The Obama one certainly is not, and the future projection is just as asinine.

Right, and there was no "You are a racist if" during Obama's first run. The only thing that is asinine is showing ignorance to what happened and what might happen based on prior events.

Gee, I can't wait until we get a Latino President. The nutbags and xenophobes will fall all over themselves with mock outrage yet again.

I would like to hear her unedited words in context, please.

So how exactly do you tell the satire from the “facts” on that site?

something isn't right about that...
sounds like something she might say if she was having a few drinks with Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio teasing them about their aspirations to be President. But as a simple statement the way it reads? I'm not buying into it unless you also have a story that reports she was kicked in the head by a moose...
Or maybe she's running for grand kleagle of the Ku Klux Klan

Looking up Newslo I find it may be a liberal satire site.

did y'all press the 'show facts' button? That should hide the made up stuff. And yes, it was satire. Fun to watch the reactions, though.

There was/is no effect from these buttons in Firefox. I had clicked them and then just wrote them off as an advertisement that wasn't working.

If it's for entertainment/amusement value, next time post it in the Café.

This place needs a little fun from time to time. It's good for everyone.

sort of my thinking with a few of my recent additions. Frankly, if I have to slog through people who really think calling a serious candidate a 'hag' isn't sexist, or that global warming isn't occurring, some utter nonsense both lightens up the day and dovetails nicely with those alternate realities. I'll behave, though, Foil...........killjoy.

the moment I saw the buttons to show the truth or just show the fiction was sort of a giveaway. Your Mileage May Vary.

You are answering like Clinton..
So let's be clear, that was after you posted it, commented on it and responded to others who commented?
