....and why do they 'deserve' them? Got to thinking about that one after reading the other thread title for a week or so.

As I have already expressed my opinion in another topic, NATO should be more afraid of themselves, not Russia. Since, the Western media are actively promoting the danger of Russia and Russian are the aggressor. Western media are constantly creating an atmosphere of fear among the people in the West. Here's what actually dangerous.
Of course, Russia is very dangerous. No one doubts this. If a good angering Russia, it will not be a war, and doomsday. If it starts, it's no one can stop. I hope that the fate of the world can solve not only world leader (it does not matter who will be - the US, China, Russia or Luxembourg), but also the international community.

Are you assuming there is an entity in place with authority on that subject?

That is typical of the lefties, they seem to default to the assumption that they hold the power to control everything.

Today we see the complete impotence of the international community before the US aggression. It's that sh*t the f*ck, when the European Union allows a stranger to the state (NATO is controlled by the United States) to fully manage their armed forces? It is the same if the Russian army will be owned and operated from China, for example.

I don’t think any country deserves to have nuclear weapons, but I do believe that a country has the right to build the things that they feel the need to, in order in insure their survival.

Classic oxymoron, huh.

We built the bomb during WWII because we thought the Nazi’s were building one, then the Russians had to have one because we had one…the beat goes on.

Would have been nice if those scientists had just kept their mouths shut.

But then we would of lost upwards of a million troops by invading Japan. No telling how many Japs would of died either.

We had a weapon…we used it…

Yea, probably saved many American lives instead of invading Japan…but the need to invade is still in question.

The bomb was used in anger, and looking at the situation at the time…I fully understand that.

Einstein created the nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. 1 gm of the isotope, such as enriched uranium / thorium / plutonium, can provide autonomous navigation huge icebreaker in the ocean, within six months (by the way, only Russia has a unique fleet of icebreakers with nuclear reactors)
