ummm, MSNBC has nothing to do with the polling showing Ben's support. Yeah, old white rural men is exactly the demographic the party needs more of.

Yea, politics, especially the Republican primaries sure can screw someone up, I can see his dilemma…he is never going to get black votes as a Republican…he knows that, so his only chance is to run as a standard Republican. (the post kinder and gentler Republicans, that emerged to fill the vacuum left after the party leaders tried to change, and were laughed and ridiculed into the shadows)
Yea, I’m sure a black man can get the Republican nomination talking about the usual things that appeal to black or gay people.
That being said…I have little respect for politicians to begin with, so I chalk him up as just another one, at this point.

That article cites no polling...other than quoting a couple people.
And yet it does have something to do with polling, it is designed to implant the notion that Carson is an Uncle Tom who won't win the votes of many blacks. It is going to sway people from polling favorably for Carson.
MSNBC doing its part to shape the story...

The story smacks of serious fear by the left of a potential candidate who is black and has left the plantation. Best try and neutralize him early on. Waiting for some story where he hit on a blond white chick while they were discussing her future as a doctor while sitting in his car.

that will be AFTER he announces, Woody. Also, Will, you may be correct that this article didn't mention the recent polling that shows both that Ben has been slipping nationwide and in the GOP primary race, and that his support has been less and less from African Americans and more and more from older, rural white voters. Even at that, he pulls around 10% as first choice among likely GOP voters.

It is possible to respect someone yet be opposed to their political views.
