....not a big fan of DailyKos blogs, but this one struck me as having a ring of truth about it.

Looks like a well behaved group of thugs to me. (there ya happy, I said it)
I know you don’t buy this concept, but I have never witnessed anyone that gave a cop proper respect get beat up, I’m sure it happens…but I have never seen it.
As for all of the rest of those comments about the National Guard and ★■◆●...apples to oranges.

The beatings usually happen when someone stands up for their rights.

Spidey... I got pulled over one time for making eye contact with a cop while giving the standard body language of "what are you doing?". [hand up in the air, eyebrow raised, mouth open]. His excuse "I'm allowed to do this". Why did I do that? His indicator was off before he made a left hand turn, he was moving slowly and pulled over erratically.
He forgot that if his emergency lights are off, he's considered to be like every other vehicle on the road and must still follow the rules. like everyone else.
So no. not every cop are on the up-and-up. some are powertrippers.

I got the feeling he was going to do something if he didn't like what I had to say.

Actually it has no ring of truth if you at all followed the news. Bikers kept arriving at the scene after the altercation was over. Some were arrested for carrying weapons, some were told to take a seat (so to speak) until the whole situation was better under control. Notice your blogger didn't have any pictures of the bikers bodies that were shot by the cops nor any pictures showing bikers that were arrested. But what the heck, lets keep the "hands up don't shoot" meme alive by ignorant people believing leftist bloggers

So you showed proper respect just in time to avoid a beating that wasn't coming due to race....
slick, seriously?!?
'A ring of truth'? The picture that said a thousand words? All in a made up story with nothing to support the assumption you are adopting.

So why did those Texas cops have a bunch of snipers surrounding the crime scene? The cop's claim of retribution towards THEM is probably founded with these violent motorcycle gangs. Even the cops are afraid of them, especially since some of those deaths we're the result of the cops shooting back during the melee.
Let's just say I'd freak out and leave ASAP if I was sitting in a restaurant enjoying my meal and a whole bunch of motorcycle gangsters drove in looking for their version of entertainment.
As for addressing a cop, I've never had trouble because I was always civil to them. But I'm a non-threatening white female, so I can't claim that's the norm. Teenaged males and black or Hispanic males have a whole different viewpoint.

If you mean "kept my voice at a civil level", yes. If I remember it as best I could, I asked him what in the world he was doing and I think I called him an idiot. his response was something along the lines of: "I'm a cop, i'm allowed to do this".

Because they are smart and were forewarned.

Well behaved thugs? No need for snipers then. They're not dangerous.
By the way, what large groups do most people in America fear most? A mob of black people pissed off at the cops because of all the recent young unarmed blacks being shot to death or a bunch of lawless white biker gangsters with absolutely NO respect for the law who like to intimidate people and take over an entire area just for their little violent rumbles (who are usually armed to the teeth by the way, unlike most black rioters)?

armed to the teeth? You betcha. The cops found over 1000 weapons, including a gun stashed in a bag of tortilla chips.

The salt will kill the metal's finish and the crumbs will jam the mechanism. Not too bright.

Not with a polymer frame and stainless innards
The gun was probably stolen and the biker found a quick place to hide it so he wasn't caught with it. Too bad Will Kill no longer posts here as I'd like to hear his perspective.
