ISIS is practicing islam as it was written. The 'moderate' muslims are not.

Those "few" have a inordinate amount of influence on many. ISIS is now a destabilizing group, along with the Taliban, Hamas et al that cause untold misery and attract new members daily due to the success they have.

hell, in many corners of the Earth, the US is seen as a major 'destabilizing' group. All a matter of point-of-view.

We may be destabilizing and meddlesome, but ISIS is downright inhumane with an evil and violent intent. There are no redeeming factors about them at all, even if we were responsible for their creation. I'm also betting the world wants little old us to now get rid of what we spawned.

Maybe so, we've been pretty stupid to keep arming one side or another in all parts of the world, especially the Middle East, all in the effort to get what we want. Plus a lot of bad things were done under Cheney's auspices during 2 long wars that some of our enemies haven't forgotten. The inane decisions this country has made on which side to arm in every conflict we've gotten into lately have always come back to haunt us and we've never learned from those failures. Like Jon Stewart said: "Learning curves are for pussies". But admit it, we haven't made beheading videos to put online for recruitment sake, recently blown up or destroyed ancient antiquities or kidnapped young girls from their schools just to rape them or sell them into forced marriages either (Boco Haram, different part of the same animal). Monsters.

I don't see the world jumping in to join us in our fight to win this one. Besides, Paul Bremer lit the final match and the world now knows it.

there has been some progress, TC, at enlisting the Saudis, Jordanians and others to the cause. Behind the scenes, the Iranians are playing some role. Now, one has to ponder what the end game for ALL of those players is. While unlikely that it is as bad as ISIS, it might not be the most US friendly outcome, either.
