So for the first time I have to commend Princess Nancy for orchestrating the defeat of Obama's trade bill and utterly humiliating him in the process. It is a odd wind that blew through the House, coupling Democrats and Tea Party conservatives against the Republicans. I wonder if Boehner at all realizes this single attempt to pass a bill shrouded in secrecy might be the demise of the Republicans holding the reins of power come the 2016 elections. At any rate the dynamics of political power has just become immensely interesting.

the sad part is that the only 'losers' in that bill's defeat were American workers. Look closely at what was defeated and what has yet to be voted upon.

Good for Pelosi. Our local Dem Rep. Defazio is also dead set against it. Good for him too. Bury that TPP screw job of a trade deal so deep it'll never, ever see the light of day.

see, you don't even know what the House voted down. It did not, as some seem led to believe, reject the TPP. It didn't even reject fast-track authorization. It merely voted down a component of the pre-agreement package that would have funded re-education for workers whose jobs were lost to foreign markets.
