Calling all Descent 3 pilots!
I miss the big CTF games we used to play back in the day. I am putting together a CTF game this week and I'm here to recruit as many pilots as I can.

Date & Time: Thursday, July 2nd 10:00 pm EST (with Independence Day coming up, I figured the weekend wasn't an option this time.)
Place: Varicose Veins or Halcyon. Or both. IP addresses will be provided later on.

This is being posted on a few Descent forums, so I'm hoping for a good showing. Spread the word! Please let me know if you can make it!

Let's Play CTF!

So far, including myself, we have 5 pilots who are going to try to come, a few more who might come.
An even bigger game would be great , anyone else interested? I was hoping for at least an 8 or 10 player game.

Just one day away, I cant wait!

Which one we will play will be decided Thursday night, on the fly, so to speak

This might actually get me in for a game or two.

If interest in D3 starts rising again, perhaps we can reinstate the old "Wednesday Night Fight Club" games, too.

I might try to pop in for a bit, if I can even remember how to play.

The game was a success! Thank you to all who flew with us!

We had 10 pilots in Varicose Veins for some great 5 on 5 play.
Then we moved to Halcyon after some pilots left and played some 3 on 3.
A total of 2 1/2 hours of intense fun.

It was a blast!

I'm thinking next game will be late in July, on a weekend this time.
I'll let you guys know!

It was a semi-regular thing set up by [RIP], and went for a number of years. Basically, it was a "variety" game - lots of different game types and levels, sometimes seasonal stuff, sometimes a level or mod that hadn't been played in a long time, sometimes just an old favorite.

I remember playing it (and various games in the week) back in 2008-2010. After my connection went to pot, I retired. But I'm pleased to say after 5 years the ping seems a bit better than before - Too bad I'm super rusty, and don't have any Sidewinders left (using Logitech now..)

Yo Pete! I'd volunteer to send you (and only you - as I know you as a passionate Descenter and fellow for ~15 years now) a Sidewinder 3D PRO or Precision PRO - or maybe even two from my stock.
If you desperately need a USB converter for them, I'd be able to serve as well (even incl. FFB functionality as per Scanjo's specs).

Yeah but I'm not in Europe anymore - It's really expensive to send stuff out here, for me it's not worth the cost of shipping and you'll probably fall over when you get to the post office. But if you're that willing, drop me a PM

I just bought a couple of MS 3D Pros from eBay myself last month. Wonderful how people who don't play Descent don't destroy the stick the way we do. And then they call it "used"... That's adorable.

I thought it'd depend on the time of the year. You're still in Seoul? It would be ~15,90€ (insurance for 50€ is 3,20€ extra) for a 90cm over all 3 edges package (30x30x30; 20x40x30; etc.) If I'd get the chance to get you back into the actual game I'd be in!

Well yeah it does, I'll be in London in December. Maybe hold onto it until then, it might get destroyed in the post I can still play with the truck driving stick (logitech).
