it's no wonder Woody wants to steer the discussion to Hillary. You all thought Obama was 'far-left'?? Bwahahahahaha!

not likely Ferno....I think they're running scared that this might be the REAL deal. No 'painting' Bernie as a socialist, he gladly embraces the term. No creating bogus descriptions of Progressivism, Socialism, Communism, Fascism.....Bernie will sort that crap right out for you. I am starting to think the GOP would LOVE for Hillary to prevail. Either Sanders or Webb hold the potential of landslide victories, which also define the national direction for beyond a mere 4 year term. Intrestingly, the two have quite different emphasis and platform centerpieces, but both are appealing to voters who have been previously persuadable Republicans in some elections, and if either connects......look out. The GOP field looks so completely fatuous compared to either of these two men, it is laughable to consider anyone in that bunch appearing on stage with either Sanders or Webb(or, just maybe, Biden).

note that rally in the OP. Bigger crowd than Trump, in Arizona, not normally seen as a hotbed of Socialist leaning Progressives. Yet, there were over 11 thousand people, listening, and then going home and telling others. Word is that the Sanders camp had to change the venue twice as the interest kept growing. That is one thing I like about Bernie, and something I've been arguing for years: Progressives have to take their message to places which often just get written off as 'Red' areas or states. He's begging for a public debate over his vision versus the Republican vison, or even those of his fellow Dems. Dems in some circles are starting to look at the demographics and realize that if they lay the groundwork now, they can reap gigantic benefits in the coming decade. States which have been solidly GOP, such as North Carolina, Florida, Louisiana, and, yes, even Texas are very likely going to go Democratic by 2020 or 2024 at the latest.

He doesn't call himself a socialist. He calls himself a "democratic socialist".
